 |
The HYDROZON® compact drinking water systems (TWK) are the result of many years of development in the field of drinking water treatment. These systems combine the latest findings in research on drinking water treatment and compact plant engineering for a natural method of treating and disinfecting a wide range of untreated water types to obtain top quality drinking water.
The TWK plants are characterised by their
- modular design
- compact units with a filtering capacity ranging from 5 to 200 m3/h, any quantity can be combined for group operation
- low space requirements
- operational reliability with sophisticated process technology, top quality materials and tried and tested control technology
- patented ozone generation and admixture in an enclosed hydraulic system
- optimised venturi/injector system with full flow mixing: efficient ozone or air dosage (with conventional aeration technology)
- simple operation (micro-processor equipped control system, operation limited to monitoring)
HYDROZON® compact drinking water systems
can be both integrated into new systems and – due to their compact design – retrofitted to existing constructions. In cost
comparison studies (investment costs + operating costs) HYDROZON® compact drinking water systems are normally considerably less expensive
than conventional ozone plants. Drinking water treatment in HYDROZON® systems is always performed according to the same basic process:
The addition of a flocculant to
the untreated water optimises the degree of separation of colloidally dispersed particles in the filter. Ozone aids floc formation, thus
increasing the filter efficiency. Dissolved organic substances are mineralised by ozone oxidation or are broken down to biologically assimilable
groups with a low molecular weight. Inorganic compounds such as iron, manganese, arsenic etc. are oxidised to form filterable complexes.
Oxidation without chlorine prevents the formation of trihalomethanes (THM) and lowers their formation potential. In optimised multi-layer
filter beds the oxidised compounds and flocculated humic complexes are retained. In the ozone-free milieu of the filter bed the assimilable
organic groups which have been broken down with ozone are biologically oxidised. The final stage of the process, hygienisation of the
filtered water with residual ozone downstream from the biologically active multi-bed filter, ensures that the clean water remains hygienic
until it reaches consumers. The redox potential, measured in the clean water after hygienisation, provides information on treatment
efficiency and indicates the ozone requirements of the untreated water.
HYDROZON® compact drinking water systems are
available in standardised units. Larger ranges are possible with parallel installation of several units or special sizes. The plants are
installed in series for extended process technology.

The stated filter performances are based on a filter speed of up to 15 m/h. The respective concrete treatment task is decisive
in the selection of the filter speed. We therefore advise that you always send us an object-specific enquiry. The dimensions specified here are
