Chlorine-free swimming water treatment with the HYDROZON®-process
The patented HYDROZON® process (ozone-bromide method) is a state of the art process for chlorine-free treatment and disinfection of swimming pool water. Oxidation with ozone and disinfection with the hypobromite generated during the process produces pleasant and odourless bathing water while maintaining a high level of disinfecting efficiency. The ozone-bromide method is a recognised water treatment process which has been in use for many years. In contrast to water disinfected with chlorine, water disinfected with the HYDROZON® process very seldom causes skin irritation.
As the substances contained in the water are oxidised with ozone, the process is especially suitable for treating highly-contaminated water (hydrotherapy, leisure pools, hot Jacuzzis, children's paddling pools etc.).
With the HYDROZON® process ozone generation and mixing is performed in a closed hydraulic plant system. The ozone is generated from atmospheric oxygen with the aid of electrical power. The advantage is that the bromide is added with the pool water as a harmless salt and the pool operator does not have to handle disinfectants classed as hazardous substances in the relevant ordinance.
Disinfection in the pool is performed by separating the oxygen atom from the hypobromite. Hypobromite is formed in the filtering system from bromide and excess ozone. As a result bromide is continuously recirculated. HYDROZON® compact filter plants are the perfect method to use this process. To convert existing pools with chlorine disinfection into chlorine free bromine systems you can use our special ozone generating and mixing systems.
